At the end of Term 4, 06 instead of winding down as most people were doing, I was winding up (co-ordinating the End of Year Activities). In all this pandemonium -and believe me, that's excatly what it was- though well co-ordinated pandemonium :) - I felt a wave of preparation start to wash over me that I had never felt before. I was ready and excited for 2007 AND IT WAS STILL TERM 4! Some of my regular readers may have noted that I was not blogging at all in 2006. I can only attribute this to what I am calling the "Third Year CBF's". It mostly stemmed from the desire to spite my fellow team teacher (the third wheel, as I would like to call him), who made every possible attempt to undermine the whole point of team teaching. I think I will leave this long and very passionate story for another blog. All I can say is, because I was investing so much energy in not doing anything, just so that Third Wheel didn't get away with it exclusively, I started to feel like this in all areas of work... and so my blogs were postponed.
But I am back...
2007 looks set to be a surefire year. As someone who loves bullet points, here are a few that explain why 2007 is going to be so great for me:
- I'm getting married in June
- I have the cutest dog and she makes me so happy when I get home from work (and sometimes she comes to work with me)
- My fiance is going to be studying by Distance Ed too at Monash Gippsland- he's going to Uni for the first time to get his degree in Psychology
- The above bullet means we will be spending more time together in a state of parallell computer symbiosis in our study
- I have 2 Year 10 classes for the first time; English and Literature
- Year 10 Literature has never been offered at my school before so I got to write the course and choose some of the texts- I chose Stargate SG-1 for Sci-Fi which should be great!
- I finally understand what was going on in Wuthering Heights!! :) Thanks Sparknotes!
- My sister is having a baby in May
- My sister in law is having her baby right now- like seriously having contractions as I blog
- I'm working with SK, my best ever team teacher in the whole wide world
- She has a spa and says we can do some late night planning sessions there- Champagne included!
- In Term 2, the new learning centres are opening and they are going to be so great
- At the same time, my new Lunchtime Activities program "The Lunchbox" will be launched
- And on top of all this, my pay goes up again... gotta love this job in that sense.
So I have a lot to look forward to in 2007. I expect to be blogging more regularly and my reviewer at schools says I need to evaluate more so I will add evaluations in here too at times so that I can show them to him at my mid and end of year reviews.
Now, about that dumb skank my fiance is talking to online... death by cyberstabbing! he he!
