Okay, so my titles are getting a little crappy now. I'm not quite sure what happened to the creative pizazz I once had. Never mind.
Mum: "So how was school today?"
Child: "Good."
Mum: "What was so good about it?"
Child: "Nothing much. But we did this really cool thing at lunchtime. The scrapbooking group have this new lady coming in named Bronwyn and she is really helpful and lets us use her stuff. Her tools, paper and stickers are really cool. And our teacher showed us her album and she has done heaps more pages since last time she showed us. She said that another teacher who she sits with in her office is going to come in next week and start scrapbooking her photos too. So that was a bit of fun."
Mum: "That sounds really good love. Now can I get you to bring the washing in...."
That was a made up scenario based on my day. Scripting....? Lunchtime activities program is going well. Especially my scrapbooking group. The Year 8 poetry anthologies are finally complete and turned out really good too. AND I was able to get Mr. IT to allow access to blogspot from school so my e-learning task looks much brighter now. I still think I will do the "My Dream" project, but now I can do this too. Yay! Maybe give students a choice of a few different e-learning projects.
I also had this very logical "why-didn't-I-think-of-this-sooner" moment where I put all the assessment items from the reports for Semester 2 into my teacher diary so that we do assignments that are on the reports, rather than trying to fit the assignments to the report. If that makes sense. And now I can do reports as I go throughout the semester, rather than right at the end when everyone else is trying to do them- Time effective practices! Although I was very good with my reports this semester and got them done early so I could have the day off to go to the gym, scrapbook, read, wash dishes...blah, blah, blah!
So. All is well. PD on Friday which I am looking forward to. Might get my portfolio back from Dianne which would be good. I'm even planning for Term 3 English and SOSE and might get my professional development proforma done before the end of term which would be almost like a miracle.
And a year 8 boy write the best poem about me...it goes something like this:
"Our teacher is the best teacher in the world.
She doesn't give us much work
She is with the programme.
If you haven't noticed I'm being sarcastic.
She is a wicked old witch
Who never stops whining and whinging.
On a scale of teachers from one to ten
She's a negative three!"
I love it. It was all done in fun...of course! As was the poem that I wrote back about him. With a little more persuasion, we could almost have a whole class "Poem-off". (Like the Zoolander Walk off or You Got Served Dance Off). That would be taking poetry to a whole new level- Shakespeare would be turning in his grave- actually he would probably love it to think that poetry was being used to offend; eg I bite my thumb sir!
Ahhh, the fun you can have as a teacher!
Bye for now,
